Sukhoi Su-47 Berkut Model Scale:1/74

Before being designated as the Su-47, the supersonic jet was initially called as the S-37. Development began in 1983 after the Soviet Air Force called for a new fighter jet that can join its ranks. Sukhoi Aviation Corporation responded with the first design of the S-37 – which, eventually, was awarded the contract. A major crisis during the plane’s production happened when the USSR dissolved. Without any funds to back the project, the Su-47 was in the verge of being cancelled. Fortunately, Sukhoi stepped up and shouldered expenses for the later stages of development. Thus, the Su-47 Berkut (Golden Eagle) was introduced with the peak of production occurring in 2002. The aircraft entered primarily as a technology demonstrator for the Russians, but there were models released for the export market. The Su-47 Golden Eagle was powered by two Lyulka AL-37FU engines that gave it a maximum speed of Mach 1.65. It had a maximum range of 2,050 miles, a service ceiling of 18,000 miles, and a climb rate of 233 miles per second. Its main firepower was a 30mm GSh-30-1, but it also had 14 hardpoints for air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles.
